Eminem was born Marshal Bruce Matters III in Missouri to Deborah R. Nelson Mathers-Briggs and Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. 

Eminem was only 18 months old when his father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. left him. His mother was left to raise him on her own. 

Eminem started to show interest in hip-hop and rap when he became 14 years old. He joined the group Bassmint Productions. While he was in the group, he went by the name M&M. After having academic issues while in the 9th grade, Eminem decided to drop out of high school.

Eminem’s girlfriend, Kim gave birth to Hailie Jade Mathers. The couple welcomed their baby on Christmas day. The couple had been experiencing an on and off relationship since they met six prior to Hailie’s birth.

Eminem released his second album, The Slim Shady LP on February 2, 1998. The album was a huge success largely because of the support it received from Dr. Dre. The Slim Shade LP has sold over 5 million copies in the US.

Marshall Mathers III got married to Kimberley Anne Scott on June 14, 1999. The two got divorced in 2001. They later got remarried on January 14, 2006. They got divorced in December of 2006. 

Deborah R. Nelson Mathers-Briggs sues Eminem for $10 million. The legal action was based on objectionable lyrics that the rapper shared about her on the Slim Shady LP. She was only awarded $1,600 in 2001.

Eminem released his third album, “The Marshall Mathers LP” on May 23, 2000. The album sold 1.76 million copies in its first week. The success of this project outshined the Slim Shady LP. His third album went on to sell over 25 million copies worldwide. Eminem won the Best Rap Album in 2000 at the Grammy Awards for this project.

Eminem was arrested for an altercation in the Royal Oak parking lot. The rapper was charged with gun possession. It was reported that Eminem pistol-whipped someone.

On April 6, 2002, the rapper released “The Eminem Show”. This project featured popular songs like “Without Me”, “Cleaning Out My Closet” and “Superman”.

The movie, “8 Mile” was somewhat of a biography that was based on the life of the rapper. The plot, however, featured fictional characters. 

Eminem released “Encore”, his fifth album. The album did well but did not compare to the success of his previous projects. Some fans and critics complained about the lyrics being below Eminem’s previously established standard. The album still sold 1.5 million copies in its first two weeks.

“Curtain Call” was released in the midst of much speculation about the rapper’s potential retirement. “Curtain Call” was a compilation of Eminem’s hits. The album became 2x platinum. After the release of this project, Eminem took a break from music.

Eminem got remarried to his former wife Kimberly Anne Scott. 

On May 15, 2009, Eminem released his first album since “Encore”. The album went on to gain 2x platinum certification.

“Recovery” received much more support and sales than his previous release, “Relapse”. The album has sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

The rapper released his eighth album on November 5, 2013. It was titled “The Marshall Mathers LP 2”. 

The Eminem Box Set is a 10-disc vinyl box set that spans the rapper’s career. The set includes seven of the rappers eight studio albums. It also includes the soundtrack from the movie “8 Mile” and much more.

Eminem’s “Stan” became a word that was added to the Oxford American Dictionary in 2017. The dictionary definition of the word is “an overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity.”

The rapper released “Revival” on December 15, 2017, after teasing fans about the possibility of an album since October 17. The tease was done in the form of false advertisements for a medication called Revival.

Eminem releases his tenth studio album, “Kamikaze”. The album was a surprise project. The album rose to the top of the Billboard 200. The album sold 434,000 units in the first week of its release.

The rapper released an 11-minute long freestyle to his YouTube channel on February 23, 2019, with the title “Kick Off”. 

Eminem surprised the world with another album on January 12, 2020. The album featured Young M.A., Royce Da 5'9", Q-Tip, Denaun, White Gold, Ed Sheeran, Juice WRLD, Skylar Grey, Anderson Paak, Don Toliver, Kxng Crooked, Joell Ortiz and Black Thought. The album sold 279,000 units in its first week.

A man by the name of Matthew Hughes broke into Eminem’s kitchen with a paving stone. When the rapper woke up, Hughes was standing behind him. He told Eminem that he was there to murder him. Hughes was charged with first-degree home invasion. He was also charged with the malicious destruction of property.
